Join the Northeast Iowa Dairy & Agriculture Foundation for the 2021 Annual Meeting on Friday, March 26. The meeting will be held virtually starting at 10 a.m. The morning session will feature a variety of speakers discussing environmental stewardship followed by the annual meeting in the afternoon.
Chris Kopman, general manager at Newtrient, will provide insight on the Net Zero Initiative (NZI). NZI is an initiative led by the U.S. dairy industry to become carbon-neutral or better, optimize water use and improve water quality by 2050. Additionally, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig will share the current state of agriculture in Iowa and a 2021 outlook. To wrap up the morning, Kayla Lyon, Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) director, will share the latest conservation-related legislative updates as well as efficiencies made in DNR services to better assist the agricultural community.
The annual meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will feature the business meeting and election of board members.
